Day 14- Write a bad poem, make it as lousy as you can, do everything wrong, let yourself be awful.

Stringing words together like paper,

Fire dancing,

Movement like water vapor.

Toward you I am glancing.

That morning I gave you my heart,

But the world never knew me at all.

I need a new start,

I’m going to fall.

In the dirt.

Mud.

Oops.

Well…..

This is gross.

I think

I need

A shower.

(Sidenote: I tried my best to make this awful. I forced myself to make crappy rhymes, the topic makes pretty much no sense, and then I just got sloppy at the end and went totally off-track AND out of structure. So… yay for awful poetry!)

Day 12- Tell your life story in 6 words.

(Holy crap, I am expecting this to be very difficult.)

(…. okay yep, this is hard.)

Innocence,

Growth,

Battle,

Survival,

In progress.

(Really not sure how I feel about this. But like… my life story, anyone’s life story, is all about growth, getting through daily battles and struggles with things, surviving through anything, and in the end… we’re all still works in progress.)

30 Day Poetry Challenge: Day 12

Day 10- Pick a one line song lyric to serve as an epigraph to your poem. Then, write the poem to accompany it.

“Life’s too short to even care at all.”

In this moment, here and now,

We are as young as we will ever be, they say.

Well I don’t know about you,

But I feel too old to be this young,

Too bottled up to be this free,

But for one time, a moment, an hour, a day,

Letting go is the best I can do.

To live careless, free and reckless,

Abandon all worry,

Act without fear,

Take risks.

For life is too short —

I think you and I both know.

Life is beautiful if you can appreciate it.

For all I wish, for you and I,

New experiences, hope, renewal,

Dreams.

I want to jump without thinking about the fall,

Climb without worrying what awaits at the top,

Swim without the paranoia of water creatures surrounding me,

I want to

Risk.

I want to

Chance.

I want to

Live.
