A neat little link….
I’m very much into improving oneself, if you didn’t already know that. I just discovered Word Dynamo, which is a challenge based on dictionary.com and designed to improve your vocabulary skills! There’s a number of challenges you can take, ranging from Shakespeare terms to historical figures and Latin vocabulary – and it’s all meant to improve yourself. As you take each challenge, the site gives you an updated estimate of how many words you know, and how you compare with others at your age/grade level. Check it out here!
(For the record, I just took the basic placement challenge for ‘college and above,’ and Word Dynamo told me that I know approximately 42,052 words.)

This challenge is designed to make you think about your goals, your wishes and your priorities. Are you ready? Continue reading “Daily Challenge: July 17th”
Photos: Civil War Reenactment, 7/14/12

After my last post detailing the events of attending my first Civil War reenactment this past weekend at the Genesee Country Village & Museum, I realized that some of you may be interested in viewing my photos! They are viewable to the public (they’re on Facebook, but you don’t need an account or to be logged in to view them). Simply click the photo above to reach the album, and enjoy!

How the soldiers – and civilians – dressed, ate, acted and lived? On July 14, I had the pleasure of attending the sesquentennial Civil War reenactment at the Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford, NY.
