Since I’m posting this around 7 p.m. – later in the day than I’ve posted any of the other daily challenges – we’re going to make this a short one. While my last post focused on discovering positive things about oneself, this is a similar challenge… but it’s not about you.One of the things a lot of people don’t realize is how important others may be in their lives. Of course, your individual confidence in yourself is significant; you have to be able to recognize good things about yourself, and know how to use them to the best of your abilities.
But another important thing is sharing this confidence with others, and allowing THEM to feel good about themselves, too.
So today’s daily challenge is sharing confidence. Reach out to a few people (I’ll leave the interpretation of “a few” to you – this could be one, two, five, etc.) and tell them one thing that you like about them. This could be a friend, a coworker, a parent, a loved one – anyone. Tell them about this daily challenge if that helps to make it less awkward; then tell them something you like about them. This might be something like “You know, I really admire how adventurous you are” or “I like your smile, it’s a very nice one; you should smile more often!”
Just do it – and don’t expect any compliments in return. This is about sharing the confidence, without expectations. You may not know it, but one positive comment can brighten a person’s day and make all the difference.
