The second day of our New England honeymoon was another fantastic one! More ocean time, a little beach morning and…. whale watching! I may never get the opportunity again in my lifetime to see whales, so this was something I was really looking forward to and in the end, something I’m really glad I got the chance to do… even if I did get a little sick on the boat.

The Honeymooners: Day 1

I got to do a lot of amazing things on my recent honeymoon trip to New England & wanted to recount some of them for my blog! Of course, if anyone’s looking for recommendations on things to do in the area — you should check some of these things out!
We’ll start with day one, which was filled with a lot of time on the road, a little bit of ocean and a solid amount of good food – plus two new states for me!
Wedding Review: Buffalo, NY
Hello, hello, hello!
As you may have noticed – or maybe not – I got married! As a result, my name has changed & so has the URL to this blog. Thanks to the nifty WordPress, you can still visit melissakania.wordpress.com, but it’ll redirect you to my new domain: burgessmelissa.com!
Before I talk about all the wonderful experiences I had on my honeymoon trip to New England, I wanted to write up a quick post referencing some of the local (Buffalo, NY) businesses I worked with for my wedding and my after-thoughts.
Vlog #1: Planning a Wedding (& Not Going Crazy!)
For the past year or so, I’ve been… busy. Busy planning a wedding – not just any wedding, but my wedding. It honestly seems like just yesterday that I was asking my now-fiancé to marry me. Now… we’re under two weeks away from the big day!
It’s been a journey so far, and I’m so looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead in the future for us – but I wanted to write a little bit about the wedding planning process, how it’s gone for me/us so far, and what I’ve learned along the way! Of course every relationship and wedding is different, and I’m by no means an expert.
With that – I’ve decided to enter into the world of vlogging!
Project 365… Once More
If anyone’s been following my blog for a few years, you may remember back in 2013-2014 when I first took on Project 365. I’ve decided to do it again this year and started in the middle of June.
For those who don’t know, the premise is simple: take one photo each day for a year. I’ve chosen to once again catalog my attempts at this project through Instagram, since I like it as a public forum and I think it’s a good way to keep myself on track.
Some days are easier than others. Some days, simply put, are crazy busy, not necessarily with anything interesting, and I nearly forget to take a photo. Other days are busy in a different way and leave me with photo after photo to choose from.
Either way, it’s another endeavor I’ve chosen to pick up – and I think it’ll be especially great with my big trip to New England coming up in under two weeks!
